Gas Flammability Limit Tester

Compliance

ASTM E681

The Gas Flammability Limit Tester is used to determine the lower flammability limit (ambient & gas venting temperature) of the cell vent gas by filling the same composition synthetically replicated gas into the explosion chamber and testing. The explosion chamber with 5L volume is designed in accordance with ASTM E681, which has a low chamber volume to reduce test cost as well as improve test repeatability.

The Gas Flammability Limit Tester consists of

  • The test chamber has an effective volume of 5L, is of spherical glass construction, and is equipped with a pressure relief device.

  • The pressure relief device consists of a rubber seal and a lightweight load spring, which provides efficient safety while providing a good sealing performance.

  • Heating system, capable of heating up to 200 degrees with a temperature control accuracy of 1°C.

  • Air circulation unit to ensure uniformity and stability in the test chamber.

  • Magnetically coupled stirrer for rapid mixing of synthesis gases.

  • Ignition unit, equipped with 2 ignition pins and a 13-15 kV ignition transformer.

  • Temperature measuring system, type K stainless steel insulated thermocouple, diameter at 1.6 mm.

  • Double interlock device to protect, when the door is not closed or the temperature does not reach the target temperature, the ignition operation is not valid.

  • Data acquisition system to collect data on pressure, temperature, explosion pressure, ramp rate, etc.
