Cables & Wires Products Fire Test Equipment

The fire performance of electric cables and wires is now evaluated in accordance with different standards within national regulations.

In the European system, the Construction Products Regulations(CPR) require all electric cables used in European countries needed to be tested using 5 test methods and classified by extending the provisions in the existing CPR classification standard EN 13501-6, test method includes ISO 1716, EN 50399, IEC 60332-1-2, IEC 61034-2, and IEC 60754-2.

In the US system, any cables which have been tested and verified to meet a certain fire rating may be stamped with the UL identification, fire rating, and approval number. The test method includes UL 910, NFPA 262, UL 1666, UL 1581, and UL 1685.
