NF P92-503 Electrical Burner Test Device

Compliance

NF P 92-503

The Electrical Burner Test Device, in accordance with NF P 92-503, is designed to measure the fire retardant level and reaction to fire of flexible materials such as drapes, curtains, tight fitting decorative fabrics or wall covering. And also measure the burning behavior of materials which is possible to make an essential contribution to preventative fire safety and reduce the risk of fire in buildings.

  • France original electrical burner, providing standard 500w heat radiation.

  • The electrical burner consists of a ceramic inner core and a heating resistor with a ceramic inner core height of 130mm and a top opening diameter of 31mm.

  • A Power controller controls the radiation output, with adjustable electric heater power and numerical display of power.

  • The support base and specimen holder are made of stainless steel, with the specimen holder facing the electric burner and the two arms at an angle of 30° to the horizontal.

  • The standard burner is made of stainless steel with a nozzle head 30 mm wide with a 3 mm opening, providing a stable disc-shaped ignition flame source.

  • The burners can be freely rotated to the appropriate position.

  • High precise needle valve and float meter to control the propane gas flow.

  • Provides a timing device for recording the test time to apply the pilot flame.

  • Stainless steel sample holder, 600 mm long and 160mm wide.

  • Standard non-combustible plate, 300mm*180mm in size.

  • Standard copper disc calorimeter for calibration of the electric burner.

  • The copper disc calorimeter is 30mm in diameter and 5mm in thick which is oxygen-free copper made and the copper disc is set in a refractory plate, the surface of the copper disc is coated with black paint with an absorption rate of 0.96; the back of the disc is soldered with a 0.5mm diameter type K thermocouple for temperature measurement.

  • Provides support stand for the copper disc calorimeter to be positioned on the electrical burner during the calibration, the copper disc calorimeter is coaxial with the electric burner and 30mm apart on the support stand.

Electrical Burner Test Device consists of

The French M Classification for Building Materials (NF P 92-507)

The “Reaction to Fire” tests classify the material into 5 categories from M0 to M4. The specific standard that is applicable depends on the intended use and defines test methods for all materials.

  • M0 - Non-flammable (Calorific Value ≤ 2.5 MJ/kg)

  • M1 - Non-flammable (Calorific Value > 2.5 MJ/kg)

  • M2 - Low flammability

  • M3 - Moderately flammable

  • M4 - High flammability
